Synopsis:

Mila 2.0 is the first book in an electrifying sci-fi thriller series about a teenage girl who discovers that she is an experiment in artificial intelligence.

Mila was never meant to learn the truth about her identity. She was a girl living with her mother in a small Minnesota town. She was supposed to forget her past—that she was built in a secret computer science lab and programmed to do things real people would never do.

Now she has no choice but to run—from the dangerous operatives who want her terminated because she knows too much and from a mysterious group that wants to capture her alive and unlock her advanced technology. However, what Mila’s becoming is beyond anyone’s imagination, including her own, and it just might save her life.

Mila 2.0 is Debra Driza’s bold debut and the first book in a Bourne Identity-style trilogy that combines heart-pounding action with a riveting exploration of what it really means to be human. Fans of I Am Number Four will love Mila for who she is and what she longs to be—and a cliffhanger ending will leave them breathlessly awaiting the sequel.

My rating: ★★★★★

Mila is your normal, average teenage girl who recently experienced a horrible tragedy: She was in a terrible house fire that, unfortunately, killed her father and has left holes in her memory. Mila and her mom move to a new town for a fresh start, until the facade that is Mila's "normal" life is shattered. Until Mila finds out that she is not human. She is an android built by a secret division of the military, and her creators want her back... bad! Except they want to use Mila as a weapon. Mila is shocked by all this, I mean she feels like any other human being... like a normal girl! But her creator doesn't care about that. They will do anything to get her back.

Oh my gods, I cannot begin to tell you how much I loved this book! I just loved the concept, especially since reading about an android main character was a first for me. And I really liked Mila--she just seemed like a normal girl with appropriate emotions and feelings. And the fact that Mila can feel just like we humans can is just very fascinating to me! I really like Mila, and her character is very easy to relate to. There are some books where you just cant relate to a character and their actions aren't believable, but Mila... being an android and all, you can't help but sympathize with her. She struggles with her emotions just like any other normal person! And her abilities? Holy wow! Mila can do some pretty badass things, and she even ends up surprising herself every now and then (see below).
I'd just stabbed some guy, an utter and complete stranger, in the armpit with a hair-dryer plug. --Mila
And Hunter... holy wow! This guys is SO sweet and such a gentlemen... he's just so swoon-worthy! We all know that I have a weakness for guys like this... I just loved him! However, I think there's something more to this guy. I mean, why else would he go out of his way to help this girl he barely knows?! So suspicious...

As for the story itself, I love a good running-away-from-bad-guys story! I don't know what it is about these types of books where characters are on the run from evil... there's just something very adventurous about these kinds of stories and them figuring out how to hide and survive under these kinds of circumstances that just really appeals to me. And as you can imagine, it was very suspenseful with some amazing action scenes.

And I love Mila's voice! Android or not, she really is just a teenage girl, and she sounds like one too! I really love it when she gets a
little snarky ;) lol

Overall, it was a great read and I cannot wait to see what happens next with Mila and Hunter and Mila's evil creators!!
